On the road again... Charlie

On the road again...
Charlie

yoohoo!!

well first let me post a congrats to 2 friends of mine who got engaged over christmas weekend! Congrats to Lexi n Dave!

i'm in md at the mo at my sisters pad crashing on the way home to nyc. of course its a family affair, so everyone is here. i've been feeling out of sorts this past week, namely because i've been sick with a cold since christmas eve. we all made out like bandits, but steve-o made out huge(cause he's 5). so here i sit outside in the cold with a cold and my allergies to my sisters cat. anyway, enough about me.

here's a pic of a nice sunset @ the beach.

beach.

went to the beach this afternoon and got a nice sunset shot. stephen loved the beach and we got a few shells, a sponge, and part of a hardened sandbar complete with tubeworm holes, coral & barnacles. we'll probably end up going again next week.

we're here!

well we finally made it to SC, too bad its night time so we couldn't see anything.after we landed, we all went to dinner. we went to this place called sticky fingers. it was damn good! memphis style barbecue. YUM

we'll see how tomorrow is during the day, supposed to be near 60.

waiting

ok, we're at the airport waiting for the flight. I felt a little sick on the way here. i'm prone to motion sickness so i dramamined it, but i took the pill a little too late. 8(

anywho, they have wifi at the airport(laguardia), so i'm taking advantage of it while it lasts, 30 minutes for 4.95. not bad, but its 20 cents a minute thereafter.
I gotta get goin, need food and drink.

Young Vin Diesel breakdancing

Riddick don't have moves like this! lol

brrrrrrrrrrr

it is fucking freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezing!! right now its 23 degrees!

so we took steve-o out to see santa this weekend. he was a little shy at first, and there were no tears!! that was awesome, i should've taken pics with santa myself, but i was scrubby.

my condolences go out to my coworker rob whose grandmother has passed away. i however got stuck working his shift, i was there for 13 hours. i got comp time which was cool so i slept in and didn't get up till 10!! I came in @ 12 so i have about 3 hours of comp time left, which will probably get boosted to 5 hours because i have to make sure things get off to a good start.

its almost time to go to south carolina!! my sister was supposed to go a day after we got there, but she will be there the day before. which is cool. i can't wait to see everybody.

IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CBGB's Lives!!!!! Until next halloween....

WOW!

hey its been ages since i posted to this thing.

Anyhow...here is some geek news.
If you get an IM in AIM from someone you don't know that wants you to click on a link, beware. it is a new AIM worm. You can read about it here.

In other news....
this myspace thing is pretty cool. i have my friends from back home on there. then all of a sudden, i get people that i went to high school with, writing to me! I just want to say hi to them if they read this tiny little blog.

ummmmmmmmmmmmmm....
so lately i've been having problems with my laptop, dead/stuck pixels to be exact. it sucks because i've had to send it in 4 times. this last time, the tech that was fixing it could not see what i was talking about. i went as far as point a post it note with arrows point to the spots, and even downloading dead pixel buddy for them to use and test. the moron still could not see it...it was as plain as fucking day. so for their "testing" they just use lights in their office. the lighting in my apartment is lower than a standard office fluorescent lights. I'm beginning to think they need to change their methods of testing. yesterday i get a call from a case worker for hp saying that they'll change it this time, but next time they may not. this is kind of silly, and i'd expect a better customer service experience than what i got. anyhow, i'm gettin the screen changed and i should be getting it back this week. I'm debating on whether to sell it or not.

christmas is almost here, which means we gotta start packin to go see the folks in SC. I can't wait, christmas at the beach.

Google Image Search

Had an idea to search for pics on google by typing in the file format for 3 different camera types. Sony, Fuji, and Kodak. These are the results I got. Also, you can play around with the search by modifying the filename of each picture eg; instead of dsc00001, type dsc00324. Try different variations and see what ya get. Its also fun with the safe search off.

Straight from MTV news. A catholic priest, who is also a principal at a new jersey high school, is advising the students to take down their blog and personal websites from such sites as myspace, xanga, and blogger. This is being done to protect children from online predators.

I think this is a really bad idea...anyone else have the same sentiments?

Ok, just wondering where everyone goes to get their weather.

let me know.
these 2 sites are within 1 degree of each other. however, accuweather has a feature called realfeel which lets you know what it feels like despite the temperature. weather.com has a similar feature but when its chilly out, they leave it the same as the reported temperature.

First day of School

ahhhh the sweet smell of a new backpack, the thrill of making new friends. today is the beginning of a long journey for our little one. today, was his first day of kindergarten. it seems like he had a good time, and thats a good thing. he was lucky that he knew a few kids in his class already, so that makes it a little easier for him.

now onto me. i was going to go back to school as well, but, i still have not received the info i needed, so i will have to post pone it until the next semester. i'm going to go for my bachelors in information systems. i may also get that certificate in graphic design too.

I know i haven't posted a full report in awhile, i've been dealing with a few things on my own. family politics that i won't spill the beans on here, lets just say that 2 peeps have been acting like jackasses. i'll leave it at that. other wise, things have been pretty good. had a good vacation, and now the inlaws are gone. thats all she wrote for now.

5 is great

ok so the little one turned 5 this past friday. the wife had a great idea to have 2 parties, one for his school friends and one for family and family friends. they both went off without a hitch. glad that part is over.*LOL*

the little fella got alot of cool stuff, but what would a 5 year old do with an ipod shuffle? i know some of you will say for me to use it, but i won't(i have 2 dell dj's, the mini and the 20gig). i configured it so its ready to roll. i just don't know what to do with those 2 apple stickers.

my mom, dad & sis came this weekend, which was great! we all had fun, and the little one couldn't be happier seeing them. now tomorrow the in-laws will arrive all the way frome ireland, then we are all going to the catskills for 2 weeks. I will have an awesome tan when i get back because most of the time will be spent in the pool.

The Don and Mike Show

The Official Don and Mike Show Website!

Today is indeed a great day. I am listening to don and mike streaming over the web. I have been listening to those 2 since I was 11. They came to nyc for almost a year then they were gone. I was getting my fix downloading shows through usenet, but as always the downloads weren't the best so i had to just get by on the audio highlights. Well now i need not worry anymore. They are now live over the web!!

Confusion

This past weekend, I went to see my sister graduate from college. She now has a bachelors in business. She is actually the first one in our family to get such a degree. I'm really proud of her!

But thats not what this entry is about. It's about....baseball and my 2 teams. My wife, son & myself took the amtrak to baltimore and then when the weekend was over, my parents took us to union station in dc. It was there that i had purchased my first nationals hat. I have always been a yankee fan for as long as i can remember, but growing up in maryland, it was unheard of. It was either the O's or nothin.

When i heard that DC was getting its own baseball team last year, i was thrilled because in my years of growing up i didn't have a home team to root for. Don't get me wrong, the Yanks have always been my number one team and will always be my number one team, just that now the nationals are around so this season will be a busy one for me.

Now i have a reason to go to shea stadium when the nats are in town. Its just weird wearing a nationals hat in yankee territory.

Ghoststudy.com - A Paranormal Adventure!

Be afraid! Be Very Afraid!!!

Ghoststudy.com - A Paranormal Adventure!

Let me be your hero baby

Ok, here's a story for your viewing pleasure.
Monday night, I took the dog out for a walk. I went my normal route, down 2 blocks, walked along the east river, back out onto 88th Street. Up on 88th i saw someone sitting in front of an apartment building, it was a girl and she was pukin. I knew she was really drunk so i just hung around to make sure that she got up and made it in her building. 5 seconds later she is starting to pass out. I ran over to her and asked if she was ok.

She managed to stand up and started goin on that she was ok and how embarrassed she was about bein so lit. i noticed that she had taken off her pants cause it was too hot, so i told her to put them back on and i'd help her home. She thanked me and i held her up as she put them back on.

Soon after she got herself together, we started off on our merry way to take her to her apt, trouble is, she had just moved to the city 2 weeks prior and could not remember what her apt number was or if she lived on 88th or 89th. We spent the next hour bumbling around trying to find her place. She did mention she was staying with friends. I suggested that she sit down for a few minutes to kinda clear her head, so we sat on a stoop and talked for a few moments. After that nice chat we got back up and headed down the block and she saw a building and said that it was her place. She tried her keys to no avail so we walked back to 89th where she told me that she was ok and could make her own way(she was still really fucked up). So against my better judgement i let her go. She thanked me and gave me a hug and apologized again for bein so messed up.

While i was walking I saw a guy and a girl who didn't seem so drunk. They asked me if i had seen their friend and i told them i did and let her go about 3 minutes prior. We rushed back to where i had left her and they went into a building. I didn't think she was there so i walked up an extra block and i spotted her a block away, and i hauled ass to get to her. When i got up to her, she seemed so lost and confused, but happy to see me. I told her that her friends were looking for her and she got a little teary. We started walking back, and another friend of hers, who obviously didn't go out that night came up to us and took her home. Again, i got another hug and apology from said drunk girl and let them go on their merry way.

So guys one crazy night in Manhattan.

Sometimes the simplest solution is the best

Ok, I'm a geek. I sat in a dude's office for an hour trying to figure out a winsock error 10054, for a pocket pc. I did the soft reset, but was wary about doing the hard reset because i've heard that it'll reset the machine to factory standards....so i spent the hour doing research when all I had to do was the hard reset. Sometimes i feel dumb.

I'm writing from the comfort of my office at work. I'm just writing this blog as an exercise in being open. Normally I'm a very shy person. I need to find out how to make myself more assertive. My thoughts are very scattered and really unorganized, so bear with me if i jump from one thing to another.

I used to have another blog at livejournal, but I wanted to switch. Something new i guess....I'm bored.
